Okay, Lost Girl fans and UNALIGNED readers, who is going to DragonCon 2014? I am!
DragonCon is my first con! (Well, I did go to AwesomeCon in DC earlier this year, but took my three kids and only attended the child-oriented events.) I know this information will be shocking, but I’m planning on going to all of the Lost Girl events, so I hope to be able to meet a lot of fellow fans. I think this is what I’m looking most forward to about the con.
I recently joined Kevin Bachelder from Tuning Into Sci-Fi TV and Stephanie and Kris from Drinks at the Dal for a special edition of the Fae Files podcast about Lost Girl at DragonCon. I was the “newbie” on the podcast, and we talked a lot about what to expect at the con, how to get around, and of course, all of the Lost Girl events. Give it a listen.
Lost Girl is part of the Urban Fantasy Track. You can view all of the events that are part of the track by clicking on this link. You can also participate in the discussion on the Urban Fantasy Track Facebook page.
I’m excited to have been asked to join the Lost Girl Fan Panel, which is Saturday night at 8:30pm. I’ll be joining these other panelists: Damian Allen, Kevin Bachelder, Stephanie Beaver, and Jean Marie Ward. The panel will be in the Westin, Chastain DE. Thanks so much to Carol Malcolm, the track director, for inviting me (and for organizing the entire track). I’m looking very forward to it!
On Friday evening there will be a Lost Girl fan meetup at 5:30pm in the Westin, Room Chastain C. It’s called “A Stop at the Dal.” I’ll be there – let’s fill up the room, shall we? It will be just like La Shoshain, except without the banshee and the blood feud.
Kevin also maintains a group for DragonCon newbies and you can join the discussion on the Facebook page where you can go and ask any newbie question you have. Kevin will lead a walking tour around the several DragonCon hotels on Thursday night starting at 5pm.
If you’re coming to DragonCon and you’re reading this, then leave a comment and let me know!
